The space of ‘Sum urban’ was conceived not as a place where nature is openly displayed, but where it is quietly concealed within the architecture. The landscape intervenes along these gaps, inserting the textures of trees, stone, and gravel between the rigid structure of concrete and glass to mediate the atmosphere and depth of the space. The courtyard is composed around two maple trees, natural stones, and low planting, creating different scenes depending on the viewer’s height and direction of sight. The rooftop terrace approaches the idea of an emptied void. Restrained elements such as crushed stone paving, rock surfaces, and low benches extend the landscape of the courtyard upward, allowing the boundary between architecture and nature to be perceived as a single continuous surface.
