지속가능성에 대해서 생각했을때, ‘매장 내의 일정 면적을 자연에 양보하는 것 자체가 지속가능한 접근이다.‘ 라는 생각을 했습니다. 다만, 그랬을때 가장 지속가능한 정원의 모습은 자연에 가까워야 하고, 그 모습이 또한 가장 이솝다운 지점이라는 생각을 합니다. 단순히 표면적인 장식이나 조형이 아니라 자연이 담기고, 유지되기 위한 정원을 만드는데 의미를 두려고 합니다. 그와 함께 과정 중에서 만든다는 명목 하에 타지로부터 들여오거나 일방적으로 폐기되어지는 등의 과정을 최소화하는 태도를 몸에 입히려고 합니다.

When considering sustainability, we came to believe that “dedicating a certain portion of a retail space to nature itself is already a sustainable approach.” In this context, the most sustainable form of a garden should be one that remains as close to nature as possible — and we believe this is also what feels most true to Aesop. Rather than focusing on superficial decoration or sculptural gestures, we aim to create a garden that can genuinely contain and sustain nature over time. At the same time, throughout the process, we seek to adopt an attitude that minimizes unnecessary transportation of materials from distant places and avoids one-sided disposal carried out merely in the name of making something new.
