ㄷ자 구조의 건물은 세 면이 막혀 있고, 유일하게 열린 중정은 가까운 옆집과 마주하고 있었다. 이 프로젝트는 단순히 시선을 가리는 데서 출발하기보다, 차폐의 기능 자체를 공간의 풍경으로 풀어내는 데 집중했다. 중정의 경계에는 벤치와 식재대, 가림 휀스의 역할을 함께 담은 하나의 디자인 벽을 계획했다. 콘크리트와 목재, 식재가 자연스럽게 연결되며, 시선을 부드럽게 조절하는 동시에 사람들이 잠시 머무를 수 있는 작은 풍경을 만든다. 측면 공간은 자작나무와 자연석, 이끼와 음지 식물을 활용해 작은 숲 같은 분위기를 만들었다. 닫힌 구조 안에서도 식물과 빛의 변화가 스며들며, 일상 속에 조용한 여백을 만들어주는 정원이다.

The building was designed in a U-shaped layout, with three sides enclosed and the only open courtyard directly facing a neighboring house nearby. Rather than simply blocking the view, the project focused on transforming the act of screening itself into part of the spatial experience. Along the edge of the courtyard, a single design wall was proposed to combine the functions of seating, planting, and visual screening. Concrete, wood, and planting are naturally integrated, softly filtering views while also creating a small place to pause and stay. The side garden was designed with birch trees, natural stones, moss, and shade-tolerant plants to evoke the atmosphere of a small woodland. Even within the enclosed structure, changing light and vegetation gently filter into the space, creating a quiet sense of relief within everyday life.
