도봉구 빈집활용 생활정원 프로젝트는 오랫동안 비어 있던 주거 공간을 지역 주민들을 위한 열린 생활정원으로 전환하는 데서 출발한다. 기존 빈집의 구조와 골목의 흐름을 유지하면서, 폐쇄적이던 공간을 마을 안의 새로운 풍경과 커뮤니티 공간으로 재구성하였다. 계획은 자연과 사람이 공존하는 일상의 외부 공간을 만드는 데 초점을 둔다. 회랑 구조와 중정형 마당은 골목과 내부 공간을 자연스럽게 연결하며, 주민들이 머무르고 교류할 수 있는 열린 쉼터로 기능한다. 일부 회랑은 외부에 개방되어 사람들의 움직임과 시선이 내부 정원으로 이어지도록 계획하였다. 등나무와 능소화 같은 덩굴식물은 회랑을 따라 자라며 그늘과 계절의 풍경을 만들고, 기존 주거지의 단조로운 경관에 자연의 시간을 더한다. 식재는  생활 속에서 자연을 경험할 수 있는 밀도와 분위기에 집중하였으며, 작은 마당과 휴게쉼터는 주민들이 자연스럽게 모이고 머무를 수 있는 생활정원의 중심 공간으로 계획되었다.

The Dobong-gu Vacant House Everyday Garden Project began with the transformation of a long-abandoned residential space into an open everyday garden for the local community. While preserving the existing structure of the vacant house and the flow of the surrounding alleyways, the project reconfigured what had once been a closed and isolated site into a new communal landscape within the neighborhood. The design focuses on creating an everyday outdoor environment where nature and people coexist. The colonnade structure and courtyard-style garden naturally connect the alley and the interior space, functioning as an open shelter where residents can gather, rest, and interact. Parts of the colonnade are opened toward the outside, allowing movement and views to flow seamlessly into the inner garden. Climbing plants such as wisteria and trumpet vine grow along the colonnade, creating shade and seasonal scenery while adding the presence of natural time to the monotonous residential surroundings. The planting design focuses on creating a rich atmosphere and spatial density through which nature can be experienced in daily life. Small courtyards and rest areas were planned as central spaces of the everyday garden where residents can naturally gather and linger.
