전통적인 정원 식재는 자연을 인간의 질서 안에 배치하고 다듬으려는 태도에서 출발해왔다. 반면 오늘날의 식재 디자인은 정형화된 형식에서 벗어나, 자연이 지닌 흐름과 생태를 공간 안에 더 가깝게 담아내고자 했다. 또한 자연을 단순히 관리의 대상으로 보기보다, 함께 관계를 맺으며 지속가능한 환경을 만들어가는 방식에 대한 고민이 있었다.

Traditional garden planting originated from an attitude of arranging and shaping nature within a human-centered order. In contrast, this planting design sought to move beyond rigid formal compositions and more closely embody the flows and ecology inherent in nature within the space. Rather than viewing nature merely as something to be controlled and maintained, it was also driven by a consideration of how to build a sustainable environment through coexistence and collaboration with nature.
