부암동 단독주택의 중정은 ‘이소관대(以小觀大)’의 철학을 바탕으로, 작은 공간 안에서 자연의 깊은 풍경과 시간의 흐름을 담아내도록 계획되었다. 중정의 사면은 뒤편 산에서 내려오는 자락의 흐름을 압축적으로 담아낸 장면으로, 자연석과 자갈, 수목과 이끼를 절제된 방식으로 배치해 마치 작은 산의 일부가 건축 안으로 스며든 듯한 풍경을 만든다. 얕은 수면 위에 비치는 하늘과 건축, 나무의 그림자는 공간의 깊이를 확장시키며, 내부에 머물면서도 자연 속에 들어와 있는 듯한 감각을 형성한다.

The courtyard of this single-family house in Buam-dong was designed based on the philosophy of I-So-Gwan-Dae (以小觀大), which seeks to perceive the vastness of nature through a small space. The sloped terrain within the courtyard abstractly captures the flow of the mountain ridge descending from the site behind, creating a compressed landscape within the architecture. Natural stones, gravel, trees, and moss were arranged in a restrained manner, allowing the courtyard to feel as though a fragment of the mountain had quietly permeated the building itself. Reflections of the sky, architecture, and trees on the shallow water surface visually expand the depth of the space, creating the sensation of being immersed in nature while remaining indoors.
